TILT – ‘Til it kills (Fat wreck chords 1995)

TILT – ‘Til it kills (Fat wreck chords 1995) 14 tracks record with this American band from San Fransisco. It’s their 2:nd record. Melodic punkrock with a lot of weight on rock, a very tight U.S sound. It reminds me of a mixture between Bad Religion and Distillers. Much of it because the female vocalist sound a lot like she had gone to the same school of singers as Beki Bondage, Gwen Stephani and The Distillers vocalist. I would like to put it in the same genre as Bad Religion. It’s perfect hoarse female lead vocals and a lot of coral singings, sometimes it can be a little bit to much corals and it nearly turns popish. Besides that this is a good record. “ Lips tits hips” Good punch and speed in this one, not the same finetuned corals here as in the other songs but it got a hell of a singalong feeling in the refrain. “Berkeley Pier“ a bit surprising this was to me a song about broken hearts and that stuff, totally 50-60:s kind of a sound, a the first listen I did wonder what the this was, but it turned to grow the more you’ve listened to it.
